The Dry Rosé is a 60/40 blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, a notable change from last year. Dry, it comes in with just a gram of residual sugar and 6.5 grams of total acidity, plus 12.4% alcohol. As I said with Paumanok's sister winery (Palmer) in this report, this is a nice success in a tough year. This probably has a bit more concentration than the Palmer Rosé (if you're comparing) but not the same dance-across-the-tongue verve. The fruit is a little more expressive here, though. In fact, it's downright bold and delicious. If I have to create a reason for picking one or the other, maybe the usage you have in mind is the answer. For drinking on its own on a warm day, I'd take the Palmer. For a food pairing, I'd take this sturdier Paumanok. They both will handle both tasks, however. Overall, neither seems to miss a beat this year. This might even be a small step up. My only concern is what might happen if you age it. Given my enthusiasm, this should be able to hold well for a few years. In any event, I'm leaning up today.” 90 points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, May 12, 2022
