Magna Cum Laude, Latin for “with high honors,” combines Montalcino’s historic Sangiovese Brunello clone with international grape varieties of Cabernet, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Magna Cum Laude flanks two other Castello Banfi proprietary cuvées bearing Latin names, SummuS “the highest,” and ExcelsuS, meaning “eminent.”
